Thanks to over 160 students and teachers reading 25 great books, over 65 competitions between 47 teams, and memorizing the names of numerous authors, our 2016 Middle School iRead Challenge has come to en end! The Final Competition took place today between 2 sixth grade teams, The Captain Readers and the team simply called, /read./.
/read./ won the championship and will be added to the EMS iRead Wall of Fame as the 2016 Champions! Congratulations to Ruby Schieldt, Nadia Kim, Naomi Wescott and Kate Fox Gunderson!

3-4 Books Galore!
1st place team: The Reading Brainiacs

The students also were challenged to create a unique name that connects to reading for their team. Teachers voted for the Best Team Name and the
3rd grade Best Team name was: Reading Rainbow Buddies
3/4 Multiage Best Team name was: Ever After Readers
4th grade Best Team Name was: Ultimate Reading Warriors
Community and Yahara Second Grade Book Bowl
Over 80 second grade students at Community and Yahara participated in the 2016 Second Grade Book Bowl.
Students started reading from a list of 22 books in February and competitions based on the books began the second week of May. The final two teams competed on June 1st at the EPAC with all first and second grade students from Community and Yahara attending and celebrating reading!

2nd place team: The Super Dog Readers from Yahara-Brett Appel, Charles Miller, Jordan Pacwich, Kincaid Kapke
1st place team: The Freadom 5 from Community: Luke Huber, Sam Huber, Marti Rebman, Mya Roller, and Jake Ciummins
Teams were also challenged to create a unique name for their team. A group of teachers voted for the Best Team Name and the second grade best team name was:
